John Epperly, MD, is deeply passionate about practicing full-spectrum family medicine to provide excellent care to underserved populations around the world. Over more than 16 years in medicine, he has had the privilege of serving alongside his wife in both rural and urban communities throughout the United States. Together, they have also provided ongoing care to patients in rural Guatemala and Zimbabwe, experiences that have profoundly shaped his approach to medicine and service.
John views medicine as a gift and considers the trust patients place in him as a physician to be among the most valuable honors of his career. Throughout his practice, he has been present for some of life’s most meaningful moments — from delivering babies to accompanying patients at the end of life. Being entrusted to care for individuals and families during these pivotal times has been one of his greatest privileges.
At Peak Vista, John continues his commitment to serving vulnerable populations in Colorado Springs. While he acknowledges the many challenges facing health care today, he remains energized by the opportunity to help lead and support the community through those challenges with compassion and dedication.
Outside of work, John and his wife, Shea, are parents to four teenagers and enjoy watching them grow into young adults. As a family, they have served together in various capacities over the years and continue to travel regularly to Guatemala to support work at a local hospital. John also enjoys spending time hiking and skiing and cheering on his children as they participate in multiple sports throughout the year.
