Peak Vista has been offered a truly uncommon opportunity to design, build and operationalize a whole-person health center which will provide a substantial and needed enhancement to the services we provide to those at risk of, or who are currently experiencing, homelessness, as well as providing care to a quickly growing number of low-income residents and their families near downtown Colorado Springs. This fortuitous circumstance is a result of partnerships that are still forming, involving business leaders, the City of Colorado Springs, and El Paso County. All parties are aligned in the effort to better serve the vulnerable populations in our community.
Early concepts of this health center envision a large facility and we expect the design to be finalized this Spring as we determine the optimal service delivery model in conjunction with the City and other partners. Ultimately this center will replace our Rio Grande Health Center (care will continue there for now) and while the Rio Grande Health Center has served us well over the years, we have outgrown the facility and look forward to the additional space. Our part-time operations at Springs Rescue Mission will be ongoing, even after construction of this new site. More details will be emerging in the coming months and I look forward to updating you as progress continues.
Our mission continues to advance, and we remain diligent in finding ways to strengthen the impact we have on the communities we serve. None of this could happen without your sustained commitment and achievement.
